Balboa is a simple, elegant rocking chair made from four slabs of bamboo ply, designed for easy assembly right out of the box. Inspired by a sleek, colourful resin rocking chair seen on TikTok, the idea for Balboa was born from a desire to create a functional yet shippable flat-pack rocking chair—a rarity in the market.
Though initially uncertain about the design process, Shaheera embraced the challenge, realising that great design doesn’t always have to break new ground; it can be about reimagining the familiar. The name "Balboa" came from a playful nod to Rocky Balboa, adding a touch of personality to the chair’s minimalist design.
