Designed for HAY by Norwegian designer Andreas Bergsaker, Chisel Lounge Chair is a contemporary yet timeless take on the ever-relevant moulded plywood chair. Named after the classic carpentry tool, Chisel was created from the desire to design a solid wooden chair with a distinctive silhouette that would stand the test of time. Developed with optimal craftmanship and ergonomics in mind, the chair’s soft, organic seat and backrest provide good support in a visually inviting way, complemented by angled legs that echo the chisel references with their characteristically bevelled edges. Chisel Lounge Chair’s wide variety of wood types, colours and front upholstery options, combined with its compact size makes it ideal for use in most domestic and public settings, from living rooms and bedrooms to waiting rooms, lobbies, and libraries.

Andreas Bergsaker was born in 1990 and is a Norwegian designer, based in Copenhagen. In 2015 he graduated with a master’s degree in Product Design at the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences. Every object he creates ensures that it can last for generations. His designs are based on traditional craftsmanship and precision. It’s about exploring material and form to achieve the perfect combination. For HAY, Bergsaker has designed Korpus and Chisel.
